SUMMARY: It's not the best or only reason McCoy sticks around the unruly James T. Kirk, but he does get a kick out of the kid's pluck -- even when Jim weasels him into a night on the town, drinks too much, hits on a Deltan, and ropes him into a nonsense, teenage bet.
COMMENTS: Wow. Seriously sexy, damn funny. Has an amazing sequel. I'll be in my bunk.

COMMENTS: If you have a voyeurism kink, this is your fic. I actually felt a little guilty.

TITLE: The One With The Romulan Ale [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: What better way to celebrate the end of your first year at the Starfleet Academy than with a trip to Las Vegas? Lose some money, get a little drunk, get a little impulsive. Too bad what happens there doesn't always stay there.
COMMENTS: A classic wake-up-married-in-Vegas fic. The dialog is fantastic. First in a series entitled Fools Rush In.

TITLE: Inextricable [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: I am in the middle of a full blown panic attack and apparently that means more Star Trek 09 fic. Yeah, I dunno. Somewhere, Brendan Gaul cries. Blame this fic on my favorite scene in Shortbus, the one that makes me cry like a baby every time.
COMMENTS: Kirk/SpockPrime. Spock is weary, and Jim comes to visit him. I don't usually read this pairing, and if it had been any other two characters I would have thought it sappy, but this fic broke my heart a little.

TITLE: I'm Just A Jealous Guy [ 1/1 ]
RATING: Short | PG-13
GENRE: Angst
SUMMARY: Leonard McCoy is thirty-one and he's too fucking old to be anybody's jealous boyfriend.
COMMENTS: Established Kirk/McCoy. Things start to change after Kirk and Spock save the world together, and McCoy starts to wonder what Jim needs him around for. What I liked best about this fic is that McCoy never actually says what he wants, but Kirk just utterly gets him.

TITLE: Above All, A Logical Being [ 2/2 ]
RATING: Long | R

SUMMARY: Spock/McCoy. For prompt: I'd like to see Spock/McCoy (McCoy/Spock?) where McCoy is attracted to Spock, is cognizant of his attraction, is comfortable with this attraction... and needs to seduce Spock to his line of thinking. I'd like to see some good ol' country courting/chasing, and a Vulcan having his assumptions challenged and reassessed. Bonus: I'd prefer there'd be no seducing Spock away from Uhura. That'd kinda make me sad. But I would appreciate it if she's just not conveniently forgotten for the sake of teh slash.
COMMENTS: This is the beginning of the "Hedgehog Love" series. The name is apt--I can't think of any other members of the crew so at odds with each other. But the author totally makes it work (even though it's not easy). Her McCoy, Spock and Kirk voices are spot-on. Spock's previous relationship with Uhura is handled gracefully. There is humor and angst and sweetness, but overall I stuck it in the Romance genre simply for the last scene. I highly recommend the rest of the series as well, which contains some Kirk/Spock/McCoy.

TITLE: The 80/20 Theory As Applied To Cats On The Bed [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: Do not allow Meg to write fic while under the influence of sleep deprivation. Do not fold, wrinkle, spindle or mutilate. Do not read if you are offended by jokes about Spock's rapidly waning dignity. Do not attempt to share a twin bed with a border collie and a kitten who is gay for the dog. Bones is a big fat potty mouth.
COMMENTS: Kirk keeps turning up, quite uninvited, in Spock's bed. Sometimes he brings friends. I can totally see there being ship's cats--pets onboard is absolutely canon (Archer's dog, Uhura's tribble). Very funny fic, though it left me with a subtle ache for Kirk.

TITLE: Untitled Kirk & McCoy [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: Kirk & McCoy, gen. Which is to say, gen, kind of. Prompt: secret admirers.
COMMENTS: Slice of life--a conversation in McCoy's office. Short, filled with little examples of an amazingly deep friendship. Rated for language.

TITLE: Relevance [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: He's drowning and he does not know how to swim. Logically, it should be a simple concept, but he's lost track of where the surface is, and his lungs are tightening, tightening. He cannot breathe.
COMMENTS: A poetic look into Spock's mind. This fic is fantastic, beautiful, breathtaking (the ending line is like a punch to the gut).

TITLE: Sweat, Paint, And Bluejeans [ 1/1 ]
RATING: Short | NC-17

SUMMARY: Um, someone named sangueuk was like: Bones would be hot in low-riding jeans covered in paint and sweat... I just added in Kirk and Spock and porn.
COMMENTS: PWP in the truest sense. Nothing says "I like you" like rubbing dirt in someone's hair. The sex was great, but the last paragraph killed me (in a good way).

TITLE: A Level Course And True [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: Spock is experiencing an unsettling emotional response in the wake recent events, but the very last thing that could possibly improve the situation is a late-night confrontation with James T. Kirk.
COMMENTS: Set after the Enterprise has returned to Earth after defeating Nero. This was so thoughtful and gentle and emotional... gah, I don't even know how to express how this made me feel. Just lovely.

TITLE: Green Light [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: "Jim, for a genius you're a goddamn idiot."
COMMENTS: There are so many lines in this that made me honestly laugh out loud. Maybe kind of a little cracky.

TITLE: Sun Protection Factor [ 1/1 ]

GENRE: Angst/Romance
SUMMARY: Sulu does everything wrong, and it's all because of Chekov's freckles. This fic was based primarily on the prompt Sulu is entranced by Chekov's freckles, but I also included They're in a bar on some planet and one of the locals is showing a little too much interest in Chekov. Sulu has to stake a claim to get the local to back off.
COMMENTS: Like most Sulu/Chekov fics, this turns out adorable and sweet by the ending. What I really enjoyed about this particular story though is that Sulu is a total BAMF, and Chekov does not stand for nonsense from anyone. Kirk makes a limited appearance, but is totally awesome. A bit fluffy at the end.

TITLE: Stealth [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: Sulu and Chekov decide to fool around on the bridge and end up overhearing something rather personal.
COMMENTS: Su/C with a side of K/S. I'm not sure if the bridge is ever left empty at any point while the Enterprise is on its mission, as I was taken to understand that there are multiple bridge crew shifts. However, I myself am new to this fandom and don't know all the rules yet. This was quite beautifully written, and I enjoyed it regardless.

TITLE: Fantasy Come True [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: Five fantasies that Chekov had about Sulu and the first one that came true.
COMMENTS: God, Chekov is adorable. A relatively short fic, and the author makes every word count. There is so much longing and sweetness here. Just perfect.

SUMMARY: Written for the Star Trek XI Kink Meme prompt found here: "I wanna see a fic in which Spock has a congenital defect or deformity due to his hybrid genetics. Uhura is turned off by what ever it is and dumps Spock. Spock sulks and hates himself until Kirk comes in and saves the day with Epic Reassuring Love Makings. I want emotional depth and details about Spock's problem and how he deals with it. I want SecretlySmart!Kirk being caring but not mushy."
COMMENTS: A sweet fic. I like how the author handled Uhura--it would be difficult not to villainize her in this context. We can see that she is only human, with all the illogical emotional reactions that can imply. Don't let my comment divert you, however--the focus of the fic is definitely Kirk/Spock.

TITLE: Another Day On The Bridge [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: Spock/McCoy. Something light, funny and short.
COMMENTS: Spock behaving badly on the bridge. Hilarious. =D

TITLE: And Years Went By [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: He was the Senior Medical officer on the Starfleet Flagship and that was true, but he was also a maudlin old man who was drinking the most expensive brandy he could afford with the same grace as the boys back home would swill backwoods moonshine. And he was drinking it alone.
COMMENTS: Established Kirk/Spock. Kirk is going to be late for his and McCoy's annual birthday get-together, and he sends Spock along in his stead. I was skeptical of this configuration--actually, I'm pretty sure this is the first K/S/Mc fic I ever read, and it made me want to hug all of them, and laugh and cry and jump up and down. Keely makes the characters real, and I loved every moment of this fic. See also sequel Wished Me Well.

COMMENTS: Hangover, and sexytiems. I have SO MUCH LOVE for this author's McCoy voice. Ends angsty, but the author has promised another installment of this story. *glee*

TITLE: Little Shadow [ 5/5 ]

SUMMARY: Sulu is Chekov's roommate at the Academy. Sulu is not happy about being saddled with a kid for a roommate, but eventually they become friends. Chekov falls in love with Sulu, and everything falls apart.
COMMENTS: This story follows Pavel's life from his entry into Starfleet at the age of 14, until his 18th birthday. I forgot how much being a teenager SUCKED, and this fic brought it all back. I think the author did an amazing job capturing the emotional rollercoaster that is being a kid in love.

TITLE: Switch [ 29/? ]
RATING: Epic | NC-17
GENRE: Angst/Drama
SUMMARY: The life and times of Leonard H. McCoy MD/PhD... If Leonard McCoy's life could get any fucking weirder, it would be... Jesus, he didn't even want to think what that could possibly mean, because it's already been too fucking weird to make any kind of rational sense.
COMMENTS: This is a long fic. It isn't your average "Bone falls in love with Kirk and angsts about it, because Kirk will never settle down and McCoy is old and broken" fic. I mean, it IS exactly that type of fic, but we get to see what it is about Kirk that makes McCoy fall in love with him. These boys have serious issues communicating. They both have ridiculous amounts of emotional baggage from before they met. The author does not hand-wave these issues away with the power of twoo-love, which I respect like crazy. Warnings for dark imagery (Tarsus IV), mentions of m/f sex, strong language.

TITLE: His Hands, Your Mouth [ 1/1 ]
RATING: Short | NC-17

SUMMARY: Bullshit medals, alcohol, a massage, and Jim Kirk all combine to interrupt Leonard McCoy's life. Written for the prompt of McCoy/Kirk. McCoy is having trouble destressing post-movie so Kirk decides to "doctor" his friend. Begins with Kirk massaging McCoy and ends with an infinitely irritated McCoy having his way with Kirk. The kinks? Rough McCoy, dirty talk.
COMMENTS: Rated for sex and McCoy's FILTHY mouth. Oh my god. After reading this fic, my intial imagining of what "dirty talk" would entail is simply laughable.

TITLE: Articulation [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: For prompt: "Anyone up for writing a sappy Kirk/Spock fic dealing with the term t'hy'la? Like Spock says it for the first time around Kirk (or it slips through during a mind meld) and Jim makes him explain it. They could be an established couple or this could bring them together. Hot sex optional."
COMMENTS: This is a seriously beautiful fic. It's sweet, and hot, and funny. Total warm fuzzies at the end.

TITLE: Of Sentinels And Anchors [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: "AU: Spock was raised on Earth with no Vulcan influence in his life." This is another of my long pieces that got way out of hand before I could battle it back into submission (in fact, I think it's even longer than Filial Piety). It's also my first AU in the Star Trek fandom and deals with the idea of a more humanized Spock with far less control over his telepathic abilities. There is also, as the rating states, some very brief disturbing imagery in this one, so folks who are easily triggered may want to tread carefully.
COMMENTS: I didn't think I wanted to read this, at all. I am not much of one for AUs, and I am a marshmallow when it comes to disturbing imagery, but this fic is unbelievably brilliant. Rated of course for aforementioned imagery, and sexual situations.

TITLE: Busted [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: "5 times someone made Chekov jizz... in his pants, and one time Chekov made someone jizz in their pants." (lol, so crass yet to-the-point)
COMMENTS: This fic is epic-win. It's funny and cringeworthy and hot all at the same time.

TITLE: Three Places Kirk And Bones Have Sex On The Enterprise And One Place They Don't [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: *points at title* A/N: So affectingly thought there should be more McCoy/Kirk porn, and I was getting frustrated as hell with the fic I'm writing, so I thought I would do her a little comment fic. It kind of got out of hand.
COMMENTS: Starts out sexy, and by the ending had me grinning like a loon. Perfect Leonard-Jim snark.

TITLE: Good Touch [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: It's McCoy's job to patch Kirk up.
COMMENTS: Cute and sweet get-together fic. Kind of fluffy. Also, safe-sex kink. Okay, and... I was a little squicked by the frank observations about STIs, but McCoy is a doctor and I imagine he would be incredibly pragmatic about the whole situation.

TITLE: Keep Your Clothes On! [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: McCoy/Spock, Kirk/Spock. For prompt: ALIENS FORCED THEM TO DO IT SPOCK/MCCOY with one pissed off Kirk cause yknow K/S is practically canon. Basically I want spock and mmcoy planet side, doing something or other, they both get nabbed and are forced to do the dirty (ill let the writer decided how or why, but I have a major collector of endangered species kink if you get me), Kirk up on the USS is forced to watch/listen as his long time lover, is getting jiggy with his BFF.
COMMENTS: The more I read from this author, the more I love them. There is anger here, but it's delivered so damn hilariously.

TITLE: Discovered Check [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: Spock discovers that Kirk has been holding out on him. Notes: Written because I like Spock being turned on by Jim's brains, and the idea of seduction via chess. There wound up not being any intentional seduction in here (or did there?), but it's cute enough to pass. Most of the chess knowledge referenced in this fic came from Wikipedia, so apologies to the chess players.
COMMENTS: Kirk is a brilliant man not to be underestimated, though even Spock is guilty of doing so on occasion. This was a fun little fic. [10.03.09: This is now the first in a series entitled Perpetual Check]

TITLE: Sealed By A Fragile Touch [ 2/2 ]

SUMMARY: "He's not leaving Bones behind on some godforsaken desert planet with nothing but the dead for company." Time moves on, wherever you are, but the question is, how fast? For prompt: Someone(s) get stuck in a time dilation field. For the crew, it's been a week; for the person stuck, it's been 7 months. Touch starvation, mute-ism (because there has been no one to talk to!), acting okay but really not - massive abandonment issues, belief that the rescue is a delusion, etc.
COMMENTS: Hurt/Comfort. So much hurt. This is not a happy fic, and things are not magically better at the end, but they're doing the best they can. Rated for language.

TITLE: Tactile Pleasures [ 1/1 ]
RATING: Short | NC-17
GENRE: Romance
SUMMARY: For prompt: Kirk, wanting to do right by Spock, and wanting to make their relationship meaningful, decides to take their relationship slowly, and, instead of having sex right away, decides to do (what he thinks are) harmless acts of affection, such as holding hands and brief touches. Only, for those of Vulcan descent, the fingers/hands are much more sensitive than for humans. Make this a fluff-filled relationship fic. I want it to make my teeth rot with sweetness by the end of it. :)
COMMENTS: For me, hand-kink never gets old, and this one is exceptionally well done. This is my favorite hand-porn fic.

TITLE: What The Documentary Got Wrong [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: For prompt: Kirk/Spock + denied gratification + frustrated!horny!Kirk. During Pon Farr the only objective is the release of the male Vulcan. Humans tend to frown on their lover not making sure they orgasm as well.
COMMENTS: Sequel to Educational Material. Oh, poor, POOR Jim. Pon Farr sounds good in theory, but the reality leaves a lot to be desired. The author manages to make it funny rather than horrifying, and there's a perk for Jim at the end.

TITLE: Ensign Dependable [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: McCoy/Chekov. Chekov gives him a small smile. "We would like to talk, but not ship's doctor to engineering ensign kind of talk."
COMMENTS: McCoy is SO out of his league here. Chekov knows what he wants and goes for it. I love the voices in this.

TITLE: How To Win Friends And Influence Vulcans [ 1/1 ]

SUMMARY: Having a best friend who didn't know he was your best friend was frustrating. That did not, however, deter Kirk.
COMMENTS: Humorous friendship fic. Kirk is utterly adorkable.

SUMMARY: When Chekov's lifemonitor goes dead on an away mission, Sulu faces the prospect of life without his best friend. For prompt: Sulu is monitoring chekov on an away mission when it says he has been 'terminated'. sulu is devastated (I want properly brokenhearted, crying etc). In fact chekovs life monitor(idk, whatever :P) was just destroyed and when he is beamed aboard with the rest of the away team, I want relieved!Sulu and I-thought-you-were-dead kissing/cuddling/sex.

COMMENTS: I do feel bad for Sulu, but THIS IS PORN, PEOPLE. Enjoy.

COMMENTS: Because the responsible thing for a bonded pair to do is educate themselves about pon farr, Spock obtains a Vulcan-made documentary for them to view together. This story is hilarious, and hot. While not terribly explicit, Spock's reactions are borderline adorable. And did I mention hot?

SUMMARY: Pre-slash/friendship. Based on the switched version of the prompt: A de-aged fic where Spock has to take care of a kid-Kirk; preferably Kirk only listens to Spock, and freaks out when he's not around. (Or, you know, switched).
COMMENTS: This is cute. And rather fluffy. It's not something I would usually rec, because of the sheer 'd'aawww' factor, but I like it, damn it. Call it a guilty pleasure. And it does have an actual plot that I am interested to see to its conclusion, unlike some other de-aged fics where the character just runs around saying the darndest things. I do not believe it is beta'd--on the first readthrough there were minor typos throughout, though they may have since been corrected. Rated for language.

COMMENTS: Dark imagery, torture, amnesia, strong language. Fleeting moments of humor, which keep the darkness from becoming overwhelming (hey, I'm a sensitive flower >_>). From experience I know JB to be a master at long plotty fics, and at convincingly writing psychologically damaged characters. Sequel forthcoming!

COMMENTS: I love long non-sappy romances. There is no explicit sex in this fic, and that seems unlikely to change. The slow build-up of the relationship is so beautifully written that I find myself not caring about the lack of adult content. Sweet, without being fluffy.

SUMMARY: Written for prompt: Jim knows he likes Spock, and that maybe Spock likes him back so that = hot future vulcan sexin'. But he's never had anal sex before and he doesn't want to seem inexperienced so he plans. A very kinky plan I might add. So he purchases a dildo that's said to be anatomically correct for a Vulcan's penis. Cue Wide Eye Wonder for Jim at the possibilities (lots of SoloM & toy play happens), and as he sets out to 'test' if they're compatible ( i.e. if it fits?!). Spock himself intervenes with his own theory.
COMMENTS: This fic? Awesome. The chapters are short, but incredibly hot. You know the author does it right when you feel like a voyeur rather than a reader. I'm not really sure what genre to group this with, as there has not yet been any interaction between Kirk and Spock in the first two chapters. There is definitely an edge of humor.
